Born in Richmond, VA, DJ Destiny has spent his entire life around music. DJ Destiny grew up listing to R&B, P-Funk, and Arcade Funk before Rap existed. Around 1984 DJ Destiny started making mixtapes and has never stopped. DJ Destiny joined a break-dance crew named ‘Calculus II’ and did shows around his area for awhile, but realized his true passion was music . In 1998, DJ Destiny started blending and mixing tracks together, taking things to the next level, but continued to do so strictly for the underground.
In 2003 DJ Destiny submitted work to Scion’s Mix-It-Up Contest, putting his name into the main stream for the first time. For the past 6 years DJ Destiny has put together independent mixtapes, and shared them with the world through various channels on the internet.
In 2007, a major step in DJ Destiny’s life happened when he simply hit up DJ King Assassin for a drop for a project he was working on. The two stayed in touch, and in 2008, DJ Destiny hooked up with DJ King Assassin and the Syndicated MIXSHOWBLAST Network! DJ Destiny began submitting mixes each month, and in 2009 DJ Destiny became a member of the Slip-N-Slide DJ’s.
2010 has brought things full circle for DJ Destiny as he has officially landed at 98.2 The Beat! DJ Destiny will be working his ass off to bring you music from all over the world each month while working hard with everyone at 98.2 The Beat, to make it the top internet station in 2010!
Ironically; once on the other side of the speakers recording music to make mixtapes to, DJ Destiny will now be spinning the hits coming out ya’ speakers!
